Implementation dialogue on EU taxonomy with Commissioner Maria Luís Albuquerque

The European Commission has pledged to reduce administrative burdens and simplify legislation, ensuring that EU rules are fit for purpose and facilitating their implementation. As part of this effort, the Commission is launching a series of dialogues to engage directly with stakeholders on how to achieve policy objectives in particular areas in a way that minimises compliance burdens and to identify ways to improve, facilitate and accelerate implementation and simplification of EU policies.

Maria Luís Albuquerque, Commissioner for Financial Services and the Savings and Investments Union, will host her first implementation dialogue on 10 July 2025. The topic of discussion will be the EU taxonomy, a key element of the EU’s sustainable finance framework that has been progressively implemented in recent years.

The dialogue offers an opportunity to discuss the stakeholder experience in implementing the taxonomy framework. It will consist of two sessions

  1. Increasing the effectiveness and usability of the taxonomy framework
  2. Exploring the extension of the Taxonomy to new sectors to facilitate implementation and further promote a competitive transition

Insights gathered could support the Commission’s efforts to improve the usability of the framework and contribute to the comprehensive revision of the EU taxonomy delegated acts, which is tentatively planned for adoption in 2026.

Please note that this event is by invitation only and not open for registration.
